As a Financial Wellness Program Manager at MMI, Beatriz Juliao-Mauersberg is responsible for assessing the budgeting and money management needs of the Hispanic/Latino community throughout metro Atlanta and north Georgia. She identifies and responds to those needs through the financial counseling and education resources of MMI and collaboration with other organizations. In 2022, Beatriz was named the NFCC Financial Educator of the Year.
Beatriz maintains certification as a Housing Counselor approved by the United States Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD), Financial Education Counselor by the National Foundation for Credit Counseling (NFCC), and the Fair Credit Reporting Act (FCRA). She has been sourced as a subject matter expert for publications including FOX Business, NBC News, The Atlanta Voice, and the Atlanta Journal-Constitution.
Before joining the organization in April of 2000, Beatriz served as the Urban Market Manager for the Metropolitan Chapter of American Red Cross where she implemented outreach programs and served as liaison to Hispanic organizations and media.
Arriving in the United States from Barranquilla, Colombia in the early 1980’s, Beatriz entered the Georgia State University ESL program and later graduated from GSU with a Bachelor of Arts. She is a graduate of the 2007 class of Leadership Gwinnett and has volunteered for the Girl Scouts of Greater Atlanta. Since 2008, she has served on the board of the YMCA JM Tull Family Center in Lawrenceville, Georgia.
Beatriz’s areas of expertise include community partner development and Hispanic financial wellness, particularly orientation on the U.S. Financial System, credit building, and managing household finances.
