Emanuel Rivero is Vice President of Operations at MMI. He oversees MMI operational activities, including counseling delivery, support services, and new program implementation. He is heavily involved in the execution of MMI’s strategic plan to realize our mission of improving lives through financial education and is closely involved with technology enhancements, transforming MMI’s digital offerings to better serve our clients.
Born in Carolina, Puerto Rico, Emanuel is passionate about helping the Hispanic community overcome unique financial challenges. This inspired him to lead the award-winning Hispanic Centers for Financial Excellence, positively impacting the financial journey of thousands of families across Florida and Georgia. In 2018 the HCFE was recognized for its transformative impact with the NFCC Agency Innovation Award.
A veteran of the nonprofit financial counseling sector, Emanuel has managed national partnerships with Freddie Mac, Fannie Mae, and the Homeownership Preservation Foundation. Under his direction, MMI reached tens of thousands of mortgage borrowers as they navigated the housing crisis during the Great Recession. With a strong call center background from his experience at Sears Holdings Corporation, Emanuel has provided operational direction during several mergers and in the delivery of white label solutions for a large national foundation.
Based in Orlando where he is active with community and faith-based organizations, Emanuel has been sourced as a subject matter expert on topics including the Latino financial experience, medical debt collection practices, small business credit, and program outcome analysis. He has represented MMI at numerous conferences including UnidosUS (formerly the National Council of La Raza), EMERGE, Prospera USA, and the National Housing Conference.
Emanuel’s areas of expertise include: Hispanic finances, community partner development, program outcome development and analysis, medical debt, and small business credit.
